Day 9


In the morning I sat down to remake the forest for a better tutorial-esc experience, during this I noticed an issue with the spawner spawning while in the minigame I fixed it up to listen to the catch signals. I also cleaned up the first forest area to be a but more polished and made it a deeper area that's more open. I also added level spawner locations to support multiple entrances.

At this point I was pretty happy with things and am kinda wanting to wrap it up. But then in the evening what started as writing up a cute fog sprite I have been wanting to be the the psudo antagonist spiraled out of control and I did exactly that. Created cut scene events involving the frog, wrote dialog for the entire game, tied the cut scene event manager into to total spirit level and created an "Thank you for playing" final scene. That being said to not "spoil" it todays recording is only of the first ribbiting encounter.

Things definitely got a bit messier with the cut scene's as I was really looking to end this Jam but I'm definitely getting quiet confident in my Godot skills, I did not think I would throw this all together on day 9.

Tomorrow will be final test playthroughs (especially with all the new scenes), adding music, figuring out all the assets to give credit to the original creators, and posting the final build on itch and submitting! Oh and maybe think about an easter egg. I don't actually have much of a idea there.
